Hanoi farmers trying to get up from flood

VietNamNet Bridge – Nearly 400 families in Dong Chiem village in An Phu commune, My Duc district, Hanoi are still in water ten days after the deluge.

Farmer Lai Van Lao’s most valuable asset is this pair of pigs. The pigs are living on the roof while Lao and his family live in their flooded house (around 80cm water)
Dong Chiem village looks very nice in water, but behind that beauty is hardship for local people



These children have had to quit school
Water levels have gone down and some families are back home

Clothes and bedding are dried after nearly one week of rain
Most of Dong Chiem’s villagers are living on the dike, waiting for the water to recede
