UK organisation to train Sacombank staff

VietNamNet BridgeThe Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint-Stock Bank (Sacombank) signed an agreement on Nov. 10 regarding joint training schemes with the UK ’s Edexcel organisation.

Under the terms of the agreement, Edexcel, a member of Pearson, one of the world’s largest educational organisations will help to train Sacombank’s staff in the fields of finance & banking, securities, management & leadership, human resources and IT as well as working alongside them in creating locally-based training programmes that comply with international standards.

Sacombank’s General Director Tran Xuan Huy said the cooperation forms part of the bank’s long-term human resource development strategy as the country’s financial systems are integrated into the global economy.

Ross Hall, Edexcel’s director for international affairs, pledged to provide long-term assistance for the training and development of Sacombank’s staff.

Early this year, the bank also signed several cooperative agreements with a number of universities, both at home and abroad.
