Around three million Vietnamese men will have difficulty finding wives by 2030 due to the rising gender imbalance, health officials told a conference in Ho Chi Minh City Wednesday.

At the population and family planning conference organized by the Ministry of Health, a report revealed that the current proportion of males to females nationwide is 1.12 to 1.

In some localities, the gap is as wide as 1.28 to 1.

Statistics show the gender imbalance has been increasing over the years and the General Department of Population and Family Planning predicts the trend will continue.
