January 11, 2009
The Transport Ministry’s Inspectorate Saturday fined a South Korean passenger VND15 million (US$840) for violating air travel safety regulations, a representative of Vietnam Airlines said.

The airline said Goh Jeong Wan, a passenger on flight VN845 from Hanoi to Seam Reap, Cambodia on January 1, 2009, opened the aircraft’s exit door without reason.

The plane was not in motion when the exit door was opened.
