Ministry to get touch with doctors offering examination, selling drugs

March 20, 2009

Doctors are banned from both providing health examinations and selling drugs.

LookAtVietnam - The Health Ministry has set up two working groups to make sudden inspections at drugstores, cosmetics and medical equipment trading firms, and private clinics in some provinces and cities.

These working groups will probe the implementation of state regulations on drug quality management, medicine registration, drug labeling, while detecting and punishing those who sell fake and low-quality medicines.

For cosmetics and medical equipment, inspectors will focus on product quality to verify producers’ declaration of the quality of their products.

At private clinics, inspectors will check legal documents for the establishment of private clinics, their implementation of regulations, their activities, and punish doctors who both provide health examinations and sell drugs.
