Vietnamese Canadian qualifies for Best Job in the World competition

LookAtVietnam - Linda Hoang, a Canadian student of Vietnamese origin, has been one of the 50 candidates who passed the qualifying round of The Best Job in the World competition organised by Australia’s Queensland Tourism Agency.

Linda Hoang is studying journalism at Edmonton University and is the youngest among the 35,000 participants in the competition.

The aim of the competition is to recruit a manager for the news service on Hamilton, a famous island on the Great Barrier Reef.

The jury will make public a short list of 10 candidates and people throughout the world can vote for their most favourite among those going to Australia for the final round on May 6.

The winner will work for 6 months as of July 1, 2009 with a salary of AUD150,000 (equivalent to US$96,000).
