Vietnam, Japan strengthen ODA transparency

April 11, 2009  about News, Politics

The Japanese and Vietnamese governments respect the increased transparency in the new official development assistance disbursement process, Japanese ambassador Sakaba Mitsuo said at a press briefing in Hanoi Friday.

He said both sides have agreed to strengthen transparency in the bidding process, including a third party evaluation.

Vietnam will also publicize all bid-related information and is expected to complete procedures for this work in the second quarter of this year, he said.

Vietnam and Japan, the Japanese diplomat said, will also have a policy that parties concerned can share information on corruption.
