NA chairman meets with Belorussian president, PM in Minsk
President Lukashenko said he was very impressed during his recent visit to Vietnam where several agreements and contracts were signed between the two countries. He added that Belarus would implement all the agreements to strengthen and cement the two nationsâ relationship, and further develop economic, commercial and investment ties, which in the midst of the global economic climate are not as strong as once expected.
NA Chairman Trong said Vietnam would never forget the assistance Belarus provided to Vietnam during the war and which continues today. He said Vietnam would make every effort to maintain and develop the nationsâ close ties.
Earlier, Trong visited Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky who said the relationship between the two countries had recently improved. The PM thanked the Vietnamese government for creating favorable conditions for cooperation projects to be implemented.
Sidorsky also said the two countries still have more work to do in terms of educational cooperation.
Trong agreed with Sidorsky that the two countries can further promote collaboration in such fields as economic and commercial cooperation as well as investment, science and technology, and education and training.
On Wednesday, Trong met with Vladimir Andreichenko, speaker of the House of Representatives (the Lower House) of the National Assembly of Belarus in Minsk.
Later on Wednesday, he met with Boris Batura, the speaker of the Council (the Upper House) of the Republic of Belarus.
