Rare breed gayal found in southern sanctuary
LookAtVietnam – Traces of a rare type of gayal were found in Phuoc Binh national garden in Bac Ai district, sourthern Ninh Thuan province, reported conservationists.

He is a full-grown, brown-haired gayal of around 900 kilograms with white legs, said a technical officer. The distinctive feature of his bent horns is that they have two colours – black at the top and olive-like yellow from the middle to the root.
“The living place of two herds of around 40 gayals was discovered in the park two years ago,” said Nguyen Cong Van, Director of the Phuoc Binh national park.
Officers at Phuoc Binh reserve have started sketching out plans to work with relevant agencies for a joint survey and concrete conservation measures.
