Street carnival in Phu Yen opens

LookAtVietnam – The biggest-ever street carnival was held on July 2 in Tuy Hoa city, south central Phu Yen province, to mark the 20th anniversary of the province’s reestablishment and the 7th ethnic cultural festival.

Present at the event were over 1,300 people from 38 troupes of artists, including one from Chung buk province in the Republic of Korea.

The event took place along Nguyen Hue, Hung Vuong, Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Trai streets in Tuy Hoa city.

The carnival attracted thousands of people on the streets and actors, musicians and singers from ethnic minority groups such as the Cham, Bana and Ede gave some amazing performances.

The city leaders hope that the traditional ethnic cultural festival will be successful to the 400th founding anniversary of Phu Yen province and national tourism year in 2011.
