LookAtVietnam - About 250 runners from Japan, France, the US, Singapore, New Zealand and Vietnam took part in the first 2009 international half-marathon in the central coastal city of Nha Trang on October 11.

Athletes competed in five running events including 21km, 10km, 5km and 2.5km road races and 2.5km on sand.

The race was co-organised by the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Japan’s General Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, with the sponsorships from Vietnamese and Japanese businesses.

It will help to strengthen the friendship between the two countries and promote Nha Trang as an ideal tourist destination to international friends.
