V-League champs lets three players go

January 29, 2010
V-League and National Cup champions Da Nang have moved three players as it prepares for the new season which will kick off later this month.

It was necessary to reduce the number of players because Da Nang has more footballers than any other top-tier V-League club, team officials said.

The three players who have left the club are goalkeeper Xuan Nam, left winger Huu Hung and striker Le Thanh Xuan.

Huu Hung and Xuan Nam will play for Da Nang’s neighbors Quang Nam, a second-tier First Division club, while Thanh Xuan will play for third-tier Second Division club Ha Tinh.

Huu Hung has not proved as good as Van Hoc and Quang Thanh on the left flank and Thanh Xuan has not been a very sharp striker in the frontline.

However, Xuan Nam’s move came as a surprise to many since he has improved a lot recently and is considered by several teammates as third best goalie in the club after Van Hanh and Duc Cuong.

The V-League season will open on January 30 and close on August 22, 2010.
