LookAtVietnam – 2009 was considered a successful year for Vietnam’s shooting as it topped the 33rd Southeast Asian Shooting Championship (SEASA) with 20 gold medals and the 25th Southeast Asian Games’ shooting event with 11 gold medals, said the Vietnam Shooting Federation.

Nguyen Manh Tuong became the first Vietnamese marksmen to be amongst the top ten shooters of the World Shooting Cup held in the Republic of Korea.

In 2009 the federation organised two open skeet & trap tournaments, attracting hundreds of amateur shooters. It sent amateur athletes to the regional and Thai Open skeet & trap tournaments.

In 2010, the federation will train athletes for the 34th SEASA championship in Indonesia and aim to grab a gold medal at the 16th Asian Games (ASIAD) in Guangzhou (China).

It will make thorough preparations for domestic tournaments and invite foreign teams to compete in these events.
