The league Rules and club licensing regulations of the 2010 Elite City League proposed by the Asian Football Confederation have been approved by HCM City Football Federation.
LookAtVietnam – The league Rules and club licensing regulations of the 2010 Elite City League proposed by the Asian Football Confederation have been approved by the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation.
The Elite City League will kick off in Ho Chi Minh City on September 11 with the participation of eight to ten clubs. The teams will be divided into two groups and compete in a round robin to decide two top teams in each group for the semi-finals.
According to a representative of the City Football Federation, the implementation of the club licensing regulations is the main reason for the limited number of clubs participation. It was decided that no team would be relegated from the Elite League as the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation is in the process of developing more clubs.
In addition to organising the City League, the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation has already held an AFC ‘C’ Certificate Course for potential managers in the league. A course for match commissioners and referee assessors will also be organised in early August, followed by a course for referees in preparation for developing the League.
