Japanese jazz band to perform in Vietnam

"Unit Asia", a young Japan-based Jazz band, will perform  in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City early next month.

The band will perform at the Youth Theatre in Hanoi (February 3) and Ben Thanh Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City (February 5), the Hanoi Moi newspaper reports.

During their first visit to Vietnam, the band will perform with Tung Duong, one of the most talented singers in Vietnam.

The concerts are organised by Japanese cultural exchange center in Vietnam in cooperation with Yamaha and the Japanese Consulate General’s office in HCM City.

 

With five members from Japan, Thailand and Malaysia, "Unit Asia" has been performing in Japan and overseas exchanging musical ideas with local artists.

"Unit Asia" performed in Southeast Asia in 2008 for the first time.

The performances in Vietnam are part of a four-nation Asian tour by the band. The band will record "Your Smile", a new album, after this tour.
