LookAtVietnam Bridge - A programme to help students prepare for the upcoming college and university entrance exams was finalised by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and corporate partners in Ha Noi yesterday.
Aimed at preparing students for the entrance exams in July, the programme will be jointly run by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Viet Nam Central Association for Students and the Thien Long Group.
The programme focuses on helping rural students prepare for the entrance exams and find accommodation when they come to city centres to take exams.
The organising board will post volunteers at bus terminals and railway stations to provide students and their relatives with dormitory addresses, city maps and other useful information.
The programme will be carried out in nine provinces and cities including Ha Noi, HCM City, Can Tho, Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Hue, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen and Dak Lak.
Over 10,000 volunteers are expected to join the programme.
Thien Long Stationery Group has agreed to donate VND3 billion (US$190,000) to the programme. It will also grant 50 scholarships worth VND1 million ($62.50) each to disadvantaged students who achieve good results on the university entrance exams, according to group general director Dr Vo Van Thanh Nghia.
