LookAtVietnam Bridge - On July 4th, the Food Hygiene and Safety Department confirmed the reason of the collective poison case in Po Qua hamlet, Niem Tong commune, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province is due to dead beef.
Previously, families of Mr. Sung Dung Sinh and Tho Mi Sai in Po Qua hamlet slaughtered two cows which had died of unknown reason. Then they distributed the meat to 87 households in the hamlet.
After eating these beef, some people started to have stomachache, then vomited black fluid and were puffed with edema in four limbs.
This case has lead to 421 people to be hospitalized including 2 dead cases up to July 3rd.
The Food Hygiene and Safety Department also indicated that during the first 6 months, there have been 90 food poisoning cases with the total poisoned victims reaching 2,470.
The Department said that main reasons of these cases are from microorganism, food-preservation chemicals and poisonous food.
Meanwhile, up to July 4th, most patients who got diarrhea for having eaten rice pancake at Hoa mini-restaurant (224 Phan Boi Chau Street, Buon Ma Thuot City, Daklak Province) on June 30th still stayed for treatment.
The reason for this poison case is from unhygienic vegetables.
