The provincial telecom sector is planning to erect three more BTSs in border Sop Cop and Song Ma districts later this month, bringing its total number to 156. The move is expected to increase mobile phone subscription in Son La by 13,500 users in May.
The province currently has nearly 85,900 fixed telephone subscribers and 236,300 cell phone users, or equivalent to 8.5 and 23.6 units for every 100 people, respectively.
In April, the provincial post and telecom sector earned 15.5 billion VND in revenue from telecom services.
