LookAtVietnam Bridge – The Petech Science and Technology Corporation (Petech) is planning to build 100 automatic public toilets (APTs) throughout Ho Chi Minh City in a bid to protect the city’s environment and outlook.
The 2 million USD project that has been submitted to the municipal People’s Committee is scheduled for completion later this year.
According to Petech chairman Phan Tri Dung, the APTs are equipped with smart doors which are automatically daily locked and unlocked if pre-set in addition to automatic flush, deodorisation and waste treatment systems.
In particular, the price of the portable toilets is equivalent to one-third of the similar imported products, Dung said.
Two years ago, Petech installed 26 APTs on a trial basis in HCM City, Nha Trang, Da Nang and trains. The results were appreciated by the HCM City Department of Science and Technology as well as businesses.
The company is expected to fix an additional 2,000 APTs in a number of provinces and cities across the country following the HCM City project.
Petch previously signed contracts to export the product to Mongolia, Thailand and Barbados that imported 12 APTs worth 39,000 USD each last year.
Apart form APTs, the company successfully produced electronic biological sewage treatment tanks (Biofast) which were fitted on tourist ships in Nha Trang of central Khanh Hoa Province.
